Another big field of 45 took on Russell Vale in round 4 of the 2024/25 season.

Conditions were a bit more testing than usual and this was reflected in the scoring.
Only 6 players managed to break handicap and a massive 23 players failed to get to
30 points and subsequently received a shot back.

Winner on the day was Mike Hill with a respectable 39 points, edging out Matt Cribb
on a countback. Third place went to Rod Coates with 37 beating three other scores
of 37, also on a countback.

A huge congratulations to Scott Neilson who achieved the ultimate by holing out on
the 9 th . Scott’s is the first BHSGC hole in one recorded in a regular Sunday game.
His name will be added to the Honour Board which will be in place at the pub soon.

The single Matchplay competition is well under way and as usual there have been
some close matches, none more so than Glenn Irwin beating Captain Murphy on the
21 st hole last Sunday.
The 4 Ball Matchplay (my favourite) will commence shortly. If you want to play and
haven’t entered your name, please let me know and I’ll add you to the list.
Next game is at Gerringong on August 25, 7.20am tee off. The event is a 4 Ball Best
Ball which is played in teams of 2. Best score only gets recorded on the card. If you
have already formed a team let me know, if not you’ll be randomly paired with
someone.

Thanks to Lee for developing the excellent Bally Scoring App. Some members
trialed it at The Vale and the feedback was positive. The app will not replace score
cards this season.

And speaking of apps please download the Pub+ app and use it for all purchases at
the pub. You receive discounts and credit points and from August 6th the club will
receive a rebate as well. How to link the app to the BHSGC will be sent to me shortly
(I hope).

Come and join us for a quiet beer at Bally Pub on Friday arvos from about 4.30pm.
See you next game or at the pub.
