Port Kembla 24-10-24

In our last three games at Shellharbour, Jamberoo and Port Kembla a combined total of 123
members have played the three courses. Out of those 123 only two members have broken
their handicap, Dave Murphy at Shellharbour and Steve Casey at Jamberoo. At Port Kembla
a grand total of zero players managed to play to their handicap. Having said that, these 3
courses are not exactly easy. Port Kembla will always be a challenge because of its length
and accordingly the big hitters dominated the leader board.
The ‘forever up there’ Dean Watson won the day with 35 on a count back from Dan Rowan.
3 rd place went to Pete Schafer with 34 nudging out Dan Hillhouse on a countback. A massive
30 players couldn’t accumulate 30 points and were rewarded with a shot back.
Our next game on December 22 is at Russell Vale and is the popular 4 Person Xmas
Ambrose. Nominate your own team or get randomly put in one. It’s a highlight of the year
and a great way to kick off the festive season. BBQ and presentation will be upstairs after
the game. All members and families welcome.
I overheard this exchange between Lee and Greg Murf at the pub after last game.
Lee: “Greg how do you put so much spin on the ball?”
Greg: “You have to cock your wrist a little more on impact”
Lee: “So you need a bit more cock in
your hand to get the ball to do that!”
See you at the pub or at The Vale.
