Calderwood Valley GC – June 30th 2024

The ever-popular Calderwood attracted 45 enthusiastic members to our round Rd 3 stableford game. Although it was almost pitch black and drizzling at 6.40am, Chris still managed to get everyone away in the time allocated. After the demoralising results from Kiama, 17 members played to, or better than their handicap. With the President marking his card, Boris Brown accumulated an excellent 45 points to take first place. Second was Dean Watson, who shot a very impressive 2 over 72 with 43 points. Third place went to Mark Wall with 42 points.  The game was also the annual Captain V President challenge. I’m encouraged that Boris and Mark are both part of the President’s team but I’m counting no chickens and will wait patiently for the result to be announced at the 2024/25 presentation. The BBQ was of the usual high quality with our new, hotel supplied sausages, getting a tick of approval. 

The Single Match Play competition kicks off on July 14 at The Vale. There are 23 entrants vying for the trophy that Captain Murphy is keen to defend. 

Next game is a single stableford at The Vale on July 28, tee off 7.00am. Let me know if you want your name added or deleted from the time sheet. 

Come and join us at the pub on Friday arvos. There’s always a few of us present eager for a beer and a chat.
